GEOGRAPHIC FOCUSED PROGRAMS
Using
the Sustainable Integrated Area Development (SIAD) framework, the CSDO-SC developed three (3) geographical clusters, divided
into three (3) major programs, namely: Mt. Matutum Integrated Conservation and Development (MICADEV) Program, Tantangan Integrated
Enterprise Development (TIED) Program; and, Allah Valley Development (ALVADEV) Program.
A.
Mt. Matutum Integrated Conservation and Development (MICADEV)
Program
The Mt. Matutum Integrated Conservation and Development (MICADEV) Program focuses on the protection
and rehabilitation of the Mt. Matutum Protected Landscape (MMPL) and its adjacent communities. It covers four (4) municipalities,
namely, Tupi, Tampakan, Polomolok and Malungon. Mahintana Foundation, Inc. is the Lead Implementer. The MICADEV Cluster is also assisted by the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE), PhilGerFUND,
Manos Unidas Compaņa Contra El Hambre of Spain, Dole Philippines, Inc., Upland Development Program (UDP), Japanese Bank for
International Cooperation (JBIC), Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and other stakeholders in the area.
B.
Roxas Mountain Range Integrated Enterprise Development (RIED) Program
The Tantangan Integrated Enterprise Development (TIED) Program focuses on the development of community-based
enterprises supportive to the Food Security Agenda of the Government. It also
promotes marketing and trading
capacities of the target communities within the cluster and
its adjacent trading centers. The TIED program covers the Municipality of Tantangan. The South Cotabato
Foundation, Inc. is the Lead Implementer of this program.
C. Allah Valley Development
(ALVADEV) Program
The Allah Valley Development (ALVADEV) Program is the largest geographical cluster
of the CSDO-SC. It covers five (5) municipalities, namely Lake Sebu, T’boli, Surallah and Sto.
Niņo of South Cotabato Province
and Bagumbayan of Sultan Kudarat
Province. Justice& Peace - Social
Action Center (JP-SAC) leads
in the implementation of this program. ALVADEV is a combination of MICADEV and
TIED programs, with strong bias on cultural preservation. It is designed to reduce
the impact of poverty within its area of coverage through sustainable environmental regeneration and protection. The program also provides sustainable economic assistance to its assisted communities.
